For generations, retirement often marked an abrupt end to working life. Today the boundary is becoming less distinct.

People may retire, sell a business, leave the Armed Forces or Police, step away from a demanding career, reduce their working hours or simply decide they want a different balance in their lives. What they frequently retain is decades of knowledge, judgement and practical experience.

At the same time, businesses and organisations continue to need skills that may not justify another permanent appointment. They may need an experienced person for a project, a few days each month, an interim role, specialist advice or simply someone who has encountered the problem before.

ExEx creates a marketplace between these two forms of availability expertise looking for worthwhile opportunities and organisations looking for expertise.

Practical skills are equally important. Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, mechanics and other skilled tradespeople may leave full-time work while still having considerable knowledge to offer. As ExEx achieves national coverage, they too could make their expertise available on terms that suit them.

Leaving full-time work does not mean leaving experience behind.
