ExEx is an innovative online marketplace where expertise, ideas and opportunities can be discovered and acted upon.

Across the UK there is an enormous reservoir of knowledge and experience held by people who are available and willing to contribute, while businesses, entrepreneurs, public sector organisations and charities increasingly need access to proven expertise on a flexible basis.

ExEx brings the two together.

Through a trusted digital marketplace, Expertise Partners can offer their knowledge and experience for consultancy, mentoring, interim management, employment, governance, projects and voluntary roles. Businesses and organisations can search for the expertise they need, while entrepreneurs can find experienced people to help develop ideas and opportunities.

Appropriate independent verification will provide confidence in identity, qualifications, experience, insurance and safeguarding where required.

Unlike conventional recruitment agencies and professional networking platforms, ExEx is built around expertise as a valuable and accessible resource. Geography need not be a barrier: much expertise can be delivered remotely, giving organisations throughout the UK access to the right person rather than simply the nearest person.

ExEx will generate revenue from multiple sources including memberships, engagement and recruitment fees, search and listing services, verification management, corporate participation and commercial partnerships.

The project is currently at development stage. The ExEx Vision website will introduce and test the concept before recruitment of the Founder 100, whose participation and investment will help fund the development and launch of the full ExEx marketplace.

The ambition is to establish ExEx as the trusted national marketplace for expertise with the potential for international expansion.

Availability isn't necessarily something that happens at the end of a career.

A 45-year-old who chooses to work three days a week may have expertise available. Someone taking a career break may have expertise available. A semi-retired director may have expertise available. And an experienced 70-year-old who wants two interesting assignments a year has expertise available.

ExEx isn't a retirement marketplace. It is a marketplace for available expertise.
