VCS 006 — A Business and a New Chapter

Martin had built an English-language school in Hong Kong but had reached the point at which he wanted to move on. The business had value, loyal students and an established reputation, but finding the right successor mattered as much to him as achieving a sale.

Through ExEx he connected with Michael, a former private-school head who was looking for a new challenge and whose educational and management experience made him a credible successor.

The transaction involved more than simply buying a business. Michael needed to understand the school, its staff and local relationships, as well as the practical implications of relocating. Martin was able to provide a structured handover and introduce him to the community around the school.

For Michael, the acquisition provided an opportunity to apply decades of educational experience in a completely new setting and begin a fresh chapter in his life.
